Bouchées d’énergie au pain d’épices / Gingerbread Energy Bites

Ces petites bouchées d’énergie aux saveurs d’un biscuit au pain d’épices font une belle collation! C’est une recette rapide, mais qui nécessite un robot culinaire car il y a des dattes à mettre en purée. Lorsque vous la faites, je vous recommande de mettre d’abord 2 c. à thé de gingembre pour voir si vous aimez le goût car à 3 c. à thé, ça fait pas mal « épicé »!


These little energy bites come with a bite! The ground ginger makes them delightfully « spicy » so if you like your gingerbread on the tame side, I would suggest putting only 2 tsp of ground ginger instead of 3. This recipe is super simple and fast but requires a food processor because of the dates.

Bouchées d'énergie aux saveurs du pain d'épice - miam! / Energy bites with a bite (the ginger makes them nice and spicy)

Ingrédients

310 ml (1.25 tasses/cups) morceaux de noix de Grenoble / Walnut pieces 

250 ml (1 tasse/cup) flocons d’avoine / old-fashioned oats 

250 ml (1 tasse/cup) dattes séchées / dried dates 

30 ml (2 c. à soupe/tablespoon) cannelle moulue / ground cinnamon

10-15 ml (2-3 c. à thé / teaspoons) gingembre moulu / ground ginger 

15 ml (1 c. à soupe/tablespoon) sirop d’érable / maple syrup

30 ml (2 c. à soupe/tablespoons) mélasse verte / blackstrap molasses

2.5 ml (0.5 c. à thé/teaspoon) sel / salt   

Instructions

1. Dans un robot culinaire, mélanger les noix de Grenoble et l’avoine jusqu’à l’obtention de petits morceaux. / Blend together the nuts and oat in a food processer until you get a course grain. 

2. Ajouter les dattes et mélanger à nouveau, jusqu’à qu’une pâte commence à former. / Add the dates and blend again, until a dough starts to form. 

3. Ajouter le reste des ingrédients et mélanger  jusqu’à l’obtention d’une pâte. / Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until dough texture. 

4. Avec les mains, former 16 boules et réfrigérer. / Using your hands, make 16 balls and refrigerate. 

Les boules se conservent mieux au frigo, mais vous pouvez les trimballer dans votre boîte à lunch aussi. / These energy balls keep best in the fridge but you can carry them to work or school in your lunchbox as well.
